Discovery Calls Part 1
We’ve all been there, you meet the contact,...
It’s summer! And while we are all not quite experiencing summer in the way to which we’re accustomed, there are still opportunities to get out of town and change your scenery a little bit. Maybe you’re taking vacation while you’re gone, and maybe you’re just “working from home.” (Don’t worry, we won’t tell.) But regardless, you need to be able to get some selling done, particularly when your prospects are in and out of the office.
If you are working from home, you have experienced how challenging plowing through a task list can truly be. There are other chores beckoning – laundry, dishes in the sink, the dog – as well as kids around the house who just need to get out of the house and require a little bit of parenting attention. So how do you do it?
Our team, which has been working remotely for some time (and is still in startup mode), relies heavily on the tool we’ve created – Maverick. It allows us to have an initial conversation with our prospects via phone or videoconferencing, learn when they are in or out of the office, and schedule our communications accordingly in the background at a better time for them..
We have dubbed these email cadences “maneuvers,” using the terminology that accompanies the flight motif that we used to name Maverick. To create a maneuver, you simply take lead, apply a First Touch, Follow Up, or Nurture Maneuver, and then customize the emails within the maneuver. You can do this by now applying a first name and company name variable, too. These emails can be scheduled for when your clients are back in the office, not when you are in the office.
If you’re on vacation, no worries! These emails will send automatically to your prospects while you are gone, and unless you’re summiting Everest or on an island with no cell reception (there are worse things), you will be able to reply and continue a dialogue. While we all love the opportunity to take a vacation, one of the strangest features of working from home has been our general inability to turn work on and off. May as well reply and see if you can sell something while you’re enjoying a nice cold beverage and a little relaxation.
We have found that being able to automate sales emails is a treat and a big benefit, particularly considering this “new normal” that we are heading into. Drop us a line and let us know if we can show you a demo. We’d love to walk you through how you can be ready to sell anytime.
