Discovery Calls Part 1
We’ve all been there, you meet the contact,...
Guest on this call:
MaverickApp marketing gal, Risa Auger.
She doesn’t say much, but when she does, she is coaching and encourages Steve to keep going.
On this call, we forgot to record the intro (yikes!), so you’ll see Steve just jumping right into his comfort zone and dialing away.
Call 1: Mark.
Steve from where? This question always makes Steve laugh!
Be honest and ask if it’s ok to continue
Ask about how they solve the problem that YOU solve
Be kind and always follow up (with MaverickApp of course!) — Steve shares how to do it in a way that works for him. Make sure to make it work for you.
Call 2: Scott.
Talking to the “gatekeeper” is a fine balance of quickly building trust and also being clear about why you are calling.
Let yourself “off the hook” when you’re put on hold
Call 3: Evans and Southerland — got a directory, skip that!
Call 4: CEO, Ron, another no answer
Call 5: Tim, Realtor
Left a message with a quick, hopeful tone
General shared thoughts:
Some days you’ll get to talk to a lot of people, some days, you’ll be on hold and leave a ton of messages.
Keep your head in the game, and give yourself credit for all that you DO get done. Remembering that there is a yes out there waiting for you will help to keep you moving along.
Big takeaway:
If the contact liked what they were using/doing, they would not take your call.
This recording may have been short, but it’s worth a watch for the insights shared. Make sure to join us for the next call to ask your questions and keep learning.
